Gwinnett County, GA is known for having some of the best events for wine lovers.

As usual in pure Aviana World Style I will give you the full run down of the 6th Annual Suwanee Wine Fest that took place November 3, 2018. I’ll tell you everything from what you get, how many wine vendors are there, is it quality, the whole shabang!

As a wine lover, it was an absolute MUST that I attend my first wine fest since I’ve moved to Gwinnett County Georgia. If you want to know more about life in Gwinnett County, you can check out my blogpost with full detail about everything from schools, to jobs, to entertainment HERE! Let me tell you, the anticipation leading up to this event was sizzling hot! So here’s how it went!

What is Suwanee Wine Fest Event all about?

Well Suwanee Wine Fest is brought to us by the same guys that organized the Suwanee American Craft Beer fest (which I also cannot wait to attend!). Local wine experts from The Beverage Superstore in Suwanee hand out over 150 premium wine samples from all over the world in an outdoor venue in Suwanee Town Center. What’s even better about this fest is it also has a great cause and charity behind it, giving some proceeds to The Annadale Village, a special place where men and women with developmental disabilities and acquired brain injuries live awesome lives with care takers that absolutely love and care for them! And just about every person serving the wine samples were volunteers! Beautiful, not let’s get drunk!

What the event offers besides wine!

So, for the sake of accuracy I have to be honest and say I have lost my receipt and forgotten exactly how much the tickets were, please forgive me. BUT I know tickets were $55/pp at the door, so I want to say I paid $49/ea for my tickets during the early bird sale! They also offered tickets with an Uber/Lyft ride, designated driver tickets, and “wine tour” tickets in which I’ll tell you what comes with that and they also sold a VIP ticket as well. With the general admission ticket, you got a wine tasting glass and guide that explains what wines are at every booth and a little bit about each of them. They also gave you a pencil to write with in order to take notes on your favorites! And of course the most important part, you get to taste as many of the wines as many times as you would like from 1pm to 4:30pm (not long enough in my opinion!). With the “wine tour” tickets you got a “passport book” that took to you each booth based on country of origin of the wines and you would get your passport stamped at each booth you visited. Once you were done, you went to the swag booth for some goodies! The VIP ticket was similar except you also got food included with your package.

Activities! Everything about this fest was encompassing fun! It wasn’t stuffy or fancy, yet it wasn’t disorganized or sloppy. It was the perfect medium of showcasing premium wine with a crowd of folks that enjoy wine for what it really is…..a good freaking time! There was a live band, cornhole, frisbees, just tons of fun was around each corner! People everywhere were dancing, laughing, hugging, and networking even!

Wine and the booths! Of course at every wine booth, it felt like every wine I tasted was freaking delicious! There were honestly only a couple out of all of the wines I tasted that I did not care for! And I’ll tell you, they are not stingy with the wine sample portions! You get a FULL taste and can have as many samples as you would like, SHEESH! But here are some photos of some of the wines that I MUST purchase and do actual full reviews on for you! At most of the booths you were able to purchase wines right on the spot with cash or card! I didn’t purchase any because I wanted to check out Beverage Superstore and patronize that business. At some of the other booths, there were vendors selling wine accessories, all natural products, food trucks, even big box companies got in on the action!

I highly recommend you attend next year as it is going down as one of my favorite fests ever, and coming from Chicago, that’s a pretty hard thing to do! The wines were good, the food was good, the people I met were beyond amazing and fun, I absolutely CANNOT wait until next years wine fest! WHO’S COMING WITH ME?!
