This was my second year attending Suwanee Wine Fest but my first time attending a festival as a volunteer!

Wine Fest
Hi, I’m Avi and I’m addicted to wine!

Let me just start by saying it is WAY more fun to attend a festival as a volunteer, at least for Suwanee Wine Fest, than as a paying guest! I got to learn a lot more about the wines in attendance and most importantly drink for FREE!

Just like last year there were over 150 different wines to try, naturally I was only able to try a few, but let me tell you, some folks gave it a valiant effort to taste as many as possible. Thank the wine God’s for the designated driver ticket lol! For paying patrons you had the option to buy a general admission ticket, receiving unlimited wine samples and a souvenir glass or a VIP ticket which would get everything in the GA ticket as well as the VIP tent that has more premium wines, food, and seats.

Let me tell you about my volunteer experience!

IT WAS A BLAST! As a wine blogger and enthusiast, naturally I want to always be around and involved with wine 24/7. Being a volunteer afforded me the opportunity to do just that FOR FREE! Talking to different people about their favorites and preferences, meeting and networking with new people and of course the cherry on top, meeting potential clients that I can work with in the future! HELLO!

Suwanee Wine Fest
Wines

The wine that we were serving was a Rosé, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, and a Pinot Noir. At my table, I was serving with my 2 girlfriends and 2 other awesome ladies we had just met that day. We were there from about 10:30am until 4:30pm when we explicitly were to stop pouring and break down our table. That may seem like a long time but the day flew by super fast and it’s primarily because we were having such a great time!

Suwanee Wine Fest is a well organized event providing the wine of course, but also concerts performing on the main stage, a plethora of vendors, and delicious food truck selections. If you live in Georgia, this is a fest you do not want to miss. BUT please I beg of you, GET A DESIGNATED DRIVER!! You have no idea how intoxicated you can get until BOOM it hits you, and you’re laid out on the lawn! I enjoyed this experience so much that I’m looking into more festivals that I can volunteer for all around Georgia and the Atlanta area! See you guys on the next adventure! CHEERS!
